The Kazoo Museum

Over the course of a decade, my strange little kazoo collection turned into a tourist destination in South Carolina.

Somewhere around 2007, I started collecting kazoos. Within a few months, that collection was a small museum taking up two kazoo-filled glass cases at the Seattle office where I was working. Soon the collection outgrew the case (and the office) and in 2010 it was relocated to the other side of the country in a corner of the Kazoobie Kazoos factory.

In 2020, we began planning renovations for an expanded museum. Thanks to the 121 individuals who supported our Kickstarter campaign, we raised funds to build three new exhibits and give the museum a well-deserved upgrade. Here’s the video from that Kickstarter campaign:

Today, hundreds of kazoos are on display along with other kazoo-related ephemera at the new and improved Kazoo Museum in Beaufort, SC. The museum now hosts thousands of visitors every year and is consistently one of the top-ranked attractions in the area. Check out some recent photos:
