Yinzer Backstage Pass

NEXTpittsburgh was launching their first ever video series and they wanted to create something ownable and unique. So we started a series that told all of Pittsburgh’s secrets.

I started chatting with the folks at NEXTpittsburgh in the summer of 2021 about producing and hosting their first foray into video. We had a small budget and we didn’t have too many resources to pull from but we did have a built-in audience as their newsletter already goes out to over 20,000 folks in the Pittsburgh area. I’ve always said that Pittsburgh is one of the most interesting places I’ve ever lived and I decided to embrace my curiosity about this town with a weekly series called Yinzer Backstage Pass.

In every episode, we take viewers behind the scenes of all things Pittsburgh. We’ve toured the Turner’s Iced Tea factory, climbed underneath the Roberto Clemente Bridge, discovered secret helipads in the middle of downtown, visited the underground dinosaur bone room at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and watched hundreds of thousands of packages zip around magical conveyor belts at a USPS sorting facility. It’s not always easy to get this kind of access but it’s always worth it!
