Travel Portland Zine

I found the most interesting people in Portland and wrote a zine about them.

To help build excitement about visiting Portland, OR, the local tourism commission decided to publish a set of zines made by Portland makers that extolled the virtues of the city. When they reached out to me, I proposed two different ideas:

1) I could interview 12 of the most interesting people in Portland and write about them.

2) I could taste chocolate chip cookies from every Portland bakery and review them.

Sadly, they asked if I'd move forward with the first idea. I interviewed my favorite local weatherman, a drag queen who's been performing for nearly 50 years, Portland's famed bagpiping unicyclist and nine others. Brooke Barker illustrated all them.

Although it didn't require eating any cookies, the zine turned out pretty cool and was distributed at hotels all over the west coast. The physical copies were snatched up in no time but you can read it online by clicking on this sentence.
